Have Yourself a Merry LPGA Christmas

There are some wonderful new LPGA items that I'm hoping will magically find their way under my tree this holiday season. I've bragged about Golf Passion by Alfredo jewelry before and now they have some fun LPGA-licensed items that are perfect for the holidays.

The silver LPGA pendant is my favorite and it comes with a 17-inch chain. At $54 it is a great deal for top Italian craftsmanship. Golf Passion also offers matching earrings and label pin in this style. The design comes in solid silver, black and silver, and a more colorful version. There is a something for everyone, so check them all out.

Once I morphed into a golfing nut, I realized I desperately needed more cool belts. I'm all over Golf Passion's LPGA belt, which is available in white or black leather. I like my belts to stand out, so I prefer the more colorful one, but a more subtle version is also available. They are $104.

Golf Passion offers a large selection of Italian made women’s golf jewelry and golf gift items. All Golf Passion jewelry and gifts consist of premium materials such as solid silver, 24kt gold, cubic zirconia, full-grain leather, and hand-blown crystal. The details on these items are lovely. They have some excellent men's golf gifts too; their golf ball cuff links have Hubbie written all over them.

Golfing gals can bling out their look even more with an LPGA rhinestone T-shirt by Titania Golf. I think these shirts are fun and classy, and at $49 they are a wonderful, inexpensive gift for any golfing gal. They are available in black, white and red.

For gals who like sparkle, Titania has a huge selection of bling items available on their site. I think the "Golfaholic" design might be good for me many golfers. It is $49.

Growing Green: Forty New Retailers to Carry Lela Designs

Lela Designs (“Lela”), the eco‐friendly clothing company that is wholly‐owned by Greenscape, is finishing its Spring 2010 selling season and has confirmed that the line will appear in 40 new retailers this upcoming season. Everyone Needs Some Golf Passion

The search is over! I have been hunting for some classy, blue box-worthy golf jewelry. I was about ready to give up and become a goldsmith, until I found Golf Passion.

Golf Passion is an Italian jewelry company that recently launched a new golf jewelry collection at the LPGA Golf Clinic for Women in White Plains, New York. The jewelry line is made in Correggio, Italy, and available in .925 grade silver and 24kt gold plate. Many of the items have a little cubic zirconia sparkle to them too, which I love.

There are golf-inspired necklaces, bracelets, pendants, earrings, and key chains. The quality is top-notch and the detailing is beautiful. My favorite line has a large golf ball pendant with cubic zirconias. I love the oval-link chain too. It's elegant but sturdy, and can be adjusted to different lengths. Most importantly, my hair doesn't get caught in the chain when I golf. I've had that problem with other jewelry.

I've added several of these pieces to my birthday wish list (Hubbie better be reading today). Each item can be purchased individually from Golf Passion, but they also offer three-piece earring, necklace and bracelet sets that are fantastic. I love my new 3-wood, but I can't wear it around my neck. Golf Passion lets me proudly show off my golf exuberance all the time.

There is a large selection of golfing jewelry at Golf Passion. Golfing Daughter is especially fond of the Angled I Heart Golf necklace. Golf Passion also has a licensing agreement with the LPGA in the works. Guys can get in on the fun too with some awesome golf cuff links and other gift items.

Argyle–Shark Style

The President's Cup practice rounds get underway tomorrow at Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco. As many of my readers know, I dig team competitions. Some argue that they are more exhibition, but I can't think of one player that wants to lose the President's Cup.

I think it's fun to see golf presented in a team fashion and with some spirit. Seeing what the players—and the WAGS—are wearing is always part of the fun. This year Greg Norman will be coaching the Internationals. He is also providing his design expertise, and the International team will be donning fashions by the Shark.
While I may be a patriotic girl, this international argyle definitely caught my eye. Seeing Mr. Villegas and Mr. Scott in modern argyle can't help but bring a smile to my face.

Oakley: Protection & Personality

Sunglasses used to just be a cool accessory for me. The first pair of sunglasses I fell I love with was my 1980’s aviators. I wasn’t looking for eye protection; my idea of style was to look exactly like everyone else. This was before I believed in sunscreen too. I know, how completely not cool was I?

Then I branched out into some more high-fashion designer glasses. Sure I wanted my glasses to protect my cute little laugh lines from the sun, but I still didn’t care how they performed. My goal was to look as glamorous as possible at the beach and pool.

After my corrective eye ~~surgery~~ surgeries, sunglasses became mandatory to protect my eyes whenever I was outside. This was new territory for me. Previously, I never wore sunglasses while playing golf. I was worried that glasses would bother me while I played. Remember, I find dangly earrings a distraction on the course.

With Oakley I don't have to choose between style and performance. Oakley has always had a strong reputation for sports sunglasses, but now Oakley offers some incredibly hip eyewear that is ideal for golf too. Oakley's polarized lenses and patented High Definition Optics (HDO) have 100% protection from UV rays that also counteracts cataracts. The lenses also eliminate glare while keeping my vision clear and sharp. Many of my old sunglasses were dark and cloudy, and often gave me a headache.

I'm especially fond of how Oakley sunglasses are designed to protect that ever so delicate skin around your eyes from signs of aging. They are also tough and can save your eyes from errant shots. If a Shankapotomus fires a golf ball at your eyes, you better be wearing Oakley eyewear.

The Oakley Liv sunglasses are my favorite for the golf course. My Livs look more like a work of art. They are made of a lightweight C-5 alloy that is meticulously hand assembled and hand polished. I honestly forget I am wearing glasses when I golf with them because they are so light and comfortable. Plus, I putt better because the lenses enhance my ability to see the contour of the greens. I have never been able to do that with my other glasses.

What we love

The Ruby Sleeveless shirt offers feminine lines and refined detailing. It has streamlined pin tucks down the front and a flattering empire cut.

The Christy Capri is a knee-length capri pant with a slim waistband, plenty of pockets, and vertical seams that elongate the body. Puma has been an exciting and youthful addition to the golfing apparel industry. The signature Cat can now be seen on golf courses around the world. What we love

Throw on a pair of jeans and heels and head out on the town. Short on time, just add heels to the outfit and go.

Golfability

Despite branching into three new categories (active, leisure and tennis), LIJA continues to reflect Hipp’s original golfing interests. The silhouettes in the LIJA line are flattering but also effective on the course. The glitzy metallic fabrics in the collection are soft and pliable allowing for a wide range of movement. The proper pockets and stretch keep this trendy line active.

Liz Doan and Tiffany Tran struggled to find the perfect balance between style, function and performance when it came to golf apparel. What we love
The Swish pleated mini skort is a youthful plaid that is flattering on and off the course. It includes three front pleats with accent metal rivets for a modern appeal.

The Agility halter dress comes in blue with yellow piping, and orange with white piping. This dress is sporty, flirty and perfect for the course

Green Tee Apparel offers a wide range of regular sizes, including a complete petite line.

Golfability
The Swish skirt has 5% spandex which provides easy movement on the golf course. It has a front and back seam pocket that don’t take away from its sleek lines, but give you a place to stash a tee, ball marker, and rest a glove.

The Agility dress is made out of amazing breathable fabric that repels liquids, resists wrinkles, dries fast, provides enhanced circulation and is antimicrobial. This A-line dress has a great swing to it and two seam pockets on the side.

The dresses do not currently have shorts underneath, but are long enough that some gals may not find them necessary. Green Tees did not want to restrict movement with an attached short. If you want extra coverage they recommend an athletic short from Lulu Lemon

The Play Dry fabric in the skirt feels like silk, but is far stronger. It has an innovative moisture management system that keeps you cooler, drier and more comfortable.

The GGBlue collection began in January 2004, when Patti Varrelmann sought clothes that were not limited to golfing, but that would transition from day to night for today’s busy, energetic woman. The GGBlue collection has evolved into a full women’s lifestyle brand with clothes that transcend activities and have a special elegance about them. The line is named after the blue eyes of Patti’s daughter, Georgia Grace. It is an extensive collection ranging from versatile separates and basics, to flirty dresses and accessories. The entire collection is inspired by femininity, positive energy and happiness.

What we love

The Nina Knicker in Citron Stripe. Don’t let the old-fashioned name fool you. The Nina Knicker is a beautifully updated, classic pant that falls just a couple inches below the knee. The citron pinstripe is superbly subtle on an airy gray. It has an oversized waistband that is flattering and comfortable. The wide cuff on these pants makes them even more luxurious. The Bermuda Short in Green Paisley. This Bermuda short has a vibrant paisley print in a slimming cut. Varrelmann handpicks prints from Italy and it shows. This short properly sports four pockets for the golfing gal.

Golftini & One Black Skort

The collection

The Golftini concept started in 2003, by owner and avid golfer Susan Hess. At first, Hess started out by designing the perfect black skort—one that could be worn on and off the course. After a few shaken and stirred experiments, the first Golftini skorts were born and quickly became popular. Golftini is known for simple lines coupled with beautiful prints and exquisite trims. This year, Golftini has exclusively designed their own fabrics and added polo shirts, pants, skirts, bermuda shorts, sweaters, performance pullovers, knit vests, fashion tops and accessories.

What we love

The Pink and Black Flower Stripe Skort has a fun art-deco feel to it. The print is complemented by small grosgrain pink ribbon detailing on the sides of the skort. It fits comfortably just slightly below the waist.

Hot Pink Pique Flower Skort is the same classic Golftini design in pique. The slits on the side of the skort are accented with pink rickrack.

Golfability

The new exclusive fabrics are made of a 97% cotton/3% spandex and are a customer favorite. These new fabrics allow you to swing, tee up, and jump a fence if necessary. Golftini skirts have two deep side pockets and one on the back of the skort.

Both the SWING and the bette and court brands are now consolidated under the SWING label. The company was originally founded in 1991, by Maria Erickson, as bette & court golf collection. SWING is actually an acronym for Sporting Women’s Innovative Gear. This brand is focused not only toward golfers, but all women who are involved in activities that require great clothing that performs well. The spring 2009 collection offers four youthful lines: Calypso, Parfait, Pop Art, and Confetti.

What we love

The Pacific skort http://www.bette-court.com/Calypso5.html offers top-notch embroidered detail along with big buttons and contrast piping. This classy skirt has a flattering cut and the perfect amount of stretch.

The soft fabric also has exclusive fabric technology designed to keep you cool on the course while offering superior protection from the sun. JoFit: A Great Fit for All Athletes

Jofit was developed for female athletes by a female athlete. Style, comfort, color, fit and function make Jofit wearable on and off the course, gym and tennis court. Jofit founder Joanne Cloak launched the initial golf line in 2007, and found that other female athletes were also searching for the Jofit “fit”. What we love

The Berry Plaid Capri. This adorable plaid capri has a slimming wide waistband and plenty of pockets including two zippered side pockets that keep the design sleek. The pants have the Jofit signature three dot logo in silver at the bottom of the pant. The silver dot theme is also on the snaps of the pants.

The Berry Fade Sleeveless shirt. This performance shirt is made with a technical fabric called JoDry which has a moisture wicking, quick dry property. The shirt is done in a fun fade print that softly blends one color into the other. The Jofit silver dots are found on the bottom of the shirt and also adorn the zipper pull.

Golfability

Jofit takes pride in being a women’s athletic line. The Jofit tops are cut longer for a full swing (no belly showing here), and the bottom garments are fit for comfort and movement with a slimming style. The fit is generous enough to be comfortable, but fitted enough to be flattering.

What we love

Titania Golf’s skirts have chic detailing with contrasting piping and cool pleating, which can be adjusted with a small zipper to reveal more (or less) of the contrasting color. This skort as an attached short and two L-shaped pockets on the front along with two patch pockets on the back of the skirt.

Titania’s Gathered Tops have ruffles and ties that gather at the bottom of the shirt and on the arm creating a very feminine effect. The Knit Vest uses colors to compliment the skirt in a fun zigzag pattern.
