Growing Green: Forty New Retailers to Carry Lela Designs

Lela Designs (“Lela”), the eco‐friendly clothing company that is wholly‐owned by Greenscape, is finishing its Spring 2010 selling season and has confirmed that the line will appear in 40 new retailers this upcoming season. Prior to the Spring 2010 selling season, a total of 115 retailers in four different countries, were carrying the fashion forward, eco‐friendly line that can also be found on some of the world’s top golfers on the LPGA Tour.

Included in the 40 new stores carrying the line are two new Golf Town locations. Prior to this season, Lela could be found in eight Golf Town locations. Golf Town, founded in 1999, has grown to be Canada’s golf superstore and is one of the most prominent golf retailers in the world and one of the largest golf retailers in North America.

Greenscape Capital Group identifies and invests in companies in the eco‐friendly consumer space. Greenscape provides strategic capital and business advisory services to these companies to assist them in achieving their corporate and environmental goals. Additionally, Greenscape operates an eco‐consulting company, working to help outside companies make their operations more environmentally sustainable, socially responsible and

Living the TEHÀMA Lifestyle

The Collection

TEHÀMA is a Native American word that means “abundance of nature” and is one of the fastest growing sportswear and luxury lifestyle brands in the country.

The TEHÀMA sportswear line was founded by Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood and fashion industry veteran Nancy Haley who met while sharing wine with mutual friends at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch in Carmel, California. Eastwood, having worn some of Haley’s designs, asked her if she would consider starting a sportswear line with him. Haley, recently retired from Sport-Haley, accepted and came out of retirement. The result is a women’s and men’s sportswear line that can be worn from work to play.

What we love

The Carbon Printed Skort in Honeysuckle. The print on this skort is an intricate pattern of intertwined rings done in a sophisticated color combination of pinks and browns. The skirt is sleek and has a front zippered pocket at the waistband.

The Short Sleeve Reaction Carbon Shirt in Cappuccino. This shirt is cut with feminine side panels that are the same brown color, but offer contrasting textures. The shirt also has polished double piping details and a shiny silver front zipper.

Golfability

The skort and shirt are both made using natural technology called Cocona™ fabric. This fabric utilizes activated carbon made from coconut shells. It provides evaporative cooling, odor resistance and added UV protection (UPF 60) to keep you more comfortable in any environment. TEHÀMA offers several technical fabric lines that are clearly intended to play hard and wear well.

The Green Designs of Lela

Lela Designs was founded in January 2006, after Tina Hofer recognized a need for a fashionable, eco-luxury lifestyle line. This Canadian company utilizes fabrics from organic cotton, bamboo, and PET (recycled, clear pop bottles). However, this green company doesn’t sacrifice style or beauty in its clothing. Lela also donates a portion of each garment to CAMFED International (The Campaign for Female Education) to help further African women’s rights to have an education.

What we love

The Ruby Sleeveless shirt offers feminine lines and refined detailing. It has streamlined pin tucks down the front and a flattering empire cut.

The Christy Capri is a knee-length capri pant with a slim waistband, plenty of pockets, and vertical seams that elongate the body. Beautiful organic cotton sateen weave makes these capris a must have for the course this season. Lela’s shorts and pants have nice, wide belt loops along with an oversized back belt loop that features an elegant embroidered Lela logo.

Golfability

The Ruby Sleeveless shirt is made with a moisture-wicking, naturally antibacterial bamboo material and is a great option to keep you cool and polished on the course.

Details such as tee holders and stylish triple topstitching on the back pockets demonstrate a designer that knows golf.

Trigelle Brings Golf to Life

The collection

Trigelle remains authentic to its golf roots by using LPGA sponsored professionals as their official R&D department. Any and all suggestions given by these professional athletes are considered and addressed during the design phase. This approach is evident in their clothing.

Trigelle sweaters can easily be thrown into the washer and drier without compromising quality. It is completely luxurious and golfable at the same time.
